The School of Design is a part of South Dakota State University combines design fields of study as the means for increasing collaboration and providing a comprehensive, robust design education for all students. The fields of study involved with the School of Design are: Architecture, Art Education, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, Studio Art. A visual identity was strongly needed, but it had to be diverse enough to cover all six schools, reflect South Dakota State University, and tie all six specializations together.
The Mark:
The mark creates the shape of an S, but also is broken in half to create a D. This broken down version of the mark can also be used as a visual element.
